One of the best ways to evaluate the effectiveness of a coach is to look at the results of athletes he/she trains and what those athetes say about the coach.

Here is what a few of our clients are saying about us:

Walt Guyer
"After completing my first marathon in Dec 2010, I decided I wanted help to improve my performance and reach my goal of a BQ.  I contacted Coach Hadley with MPR and in just 12 weeks, I was able to reduce my marathon time by 14 minutes and run a BQ.  I have continued to work with him and through a balanced training program, I have set large PRs at every running distance (5ks & up) including another 9 minute improvement in the marathon to achieve my sub-3 hour marathon goal.

I have taken 23 minutes off of my marathon time in 11 months. I look forward to working with Coach Hadley to continue to improve my running times and would definitely recommend him to other runners looking to improve."

Caitlin Chrisman
“After my collegiate running career ended upon graduation from Wake Forest, I struggled to maintain the consistency in my training while juggling a full time job.  After a year of stagnant race times, I decided to let Mark create my training regime.
Since I’ve started working with Mark, my training has become more consistent and has become more customized to peak at target races.  He considers my strengths and weaknesses, personal goals, and work schedule to tailor a program to meet all my needs.  With Mark’s guidance, I have dropped over a minute in my 5k, 10k, 10 Miler, and Half Marathon PRs.

With the Marathon Plan Mark gave me, I have successfully adapted, injury-free, from 10k training to marathon training.  I highly recommend Mark’s services to those looking to better their times and those looking to run their first marathon.”

“Coach Hadley at Maximum Performance Running has been the best addition to my training plan I could think of.  Prior to working with Mark, I considered myself just a casual runner, training on my own, racing 1-2 times a month, and averaging 25-30 miles a week.  Working with Coach has allowed me to set long term racing goals as well as a specific training schedule ending with a marathon at the end of the year.  My training plan included gradually increasing my weekly mileage and incorporating speed-workouts into my routine.  Over the course of the year I have lowered my PR’s in the 5K, 4 Miler, 8K, 10K, 15K, and Half-Marathon, with the highlight being my 1:22:02 Half Marathon qualifying me for the NYC Marathon!

I would definitely recommend Mark and Maximum Performance Running to any runner looking for quality improvement through a personalized training plan as well as quality real-time feedback.”

“I had been a recreational runner for just about 7 years on and off when I contacted Mark Hadley for interest in his coaching services. More recently within the past 2 years I had begun to take serious interest in the marathon and started to see some results. I upped my weekly mileage to about 60 miles per week and continued to run random tempos mixed with long runs. The result in June of 2010 was I felt I had simply reached my bottom in terms of my best time with a 2:56:36 at the Grandmas Marathon in Duluth, MN. I was rather frustrated because less than a year earlier I had run a 2:56:30 at the Baton Rouge Beach Marathon. I was unsure how to get faster and felt I had peaked. Then after a thorough meeting with Mark Hadley, we outlined my goals for the upcoming year and he tailored a plan to include all the upcoming races as well as customized speed-workouts that were based on my fitness level. He made it clear that he only wanted to help me realize my dreams and help me to achieve them through his plan. The result was incredible. After training with Maximum Performance Running, I was able to achieve all the goals set for the coming year in the first 3 months and I was forced to set new goals. The Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham, AL on February 13th, 2011 was a success with a near 11 minute PR in 2:45:52. I have stated the races so that you can look-up my name in the results if you would like to see for yourself. Thanks Coach Hadley!”

"I started working with Coach Hadley at Maximum Performance Running with a goal of running the 2011 Boston Marathon in under 3 hours.  Before working with Mark, I ran two marathons using a generic online training program that got me to the finish, but I felt like I wasn’t reaching my potential.  Mark developed for me a customized training plan based on my ability level, time and schedule constraints and goals.  He worked in a mix of speed work and at all distances and I was able to run injury-free in the 3 months leading up to Boston.  Mark was always available to make adjustments to my plan so I could work some shorter races into my schedule, and he even analyzed the Boston Marathon course so I had a race plan to execute.  Since working with Mark, I have set new PRs in the 5K (17:24, a 45 second PR) and the half marathon (1:22:45, a 6 minute PR), and I reached my Boston Marathon goal (2:58:45, a 6 minute PR).

I would recommend Mark Hadley and Maximum Performance Running for anyone who is serious about reaching your full potential in distance running."
